IFAK Traumatic Bleeding Rip-Away Kit

American warfighters were being shot and blown up with IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), causing medical professionals to further reassess the need for treatment. They studied wound data and learned some interesting things:

Only 6 percent of deaths occurred due to airway obstructions, but 60 percent died from hemorrhage or bleeding out, according to the Fundamentals of Combat Casualty Care (2012).  Accordingly, priorities shifted. Circulation became the number one priority, reordering the old list to ABC to CAB: circulation, airway, and breathing.  Battlefield physicians and medics realized that care immediately after an injury greatly contributed to the survivability of the patient. Tourniquets were distributed and used liberally, greatly increasing survival rates among the injured.

If you carry a gun, you should have the equipment and training to plug the holes it makes in both you and the threat you are trying to stop.  We at DETROIT HOLSTER have been pondering this for some months and decided we would get the training on tourniquet use and outfit all of our personal vehicles with IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) Traumatic Bleeding Kits as well as carry a tourniquet as part of our EDC.  We then decided that we needed to share this with you our customers.

  After exhaustive research, the SOF-T is our go-to. It is beefy yet folds smaller than its nearest competition allowing it to be carried much easier as an EDC item even in your pocket.   -Packed with features such as 3 meters of gauze, a removable occlusive plastic sheet behind the trauma dressing pad, and a pressure bar that can also act as an eye cup, the advanced capabilities of the bandage are tucked neatly away and can be utilized if required or simply ignored.
