Polymer Handgun Engraving Service
Handgun stippling has been done for decades by a guy in his basement with a magnifying glass and soldering iron. We at Detroit Holster have changed all that with several high-powered laser CNC machines.
Engraving can serve two purposes. It assists in adding a positive grip against natural skin oil on our hands, sweat, blood, and weather and it also adds awesome aesthetics to your handgun. We are seeing many more CPL citizens, competitive shooters, and law enforcement officers using this service for both on and off-duty applications.
All of our designs are created in-house and tailored for the specific handgun model specified. The design you choose will be similar to the example in the photo, however, there will be some differences based on the gun model and image placement.
- SOME PATTERNS ARE MORE FOR LOOKS THAN FUNCTIONALITY AND VICE VERSA.
- For example, the Herringbone and Hexacam patterns are much more “grippy” than the Detroit Crypt option.
This is a great way to customize your weapon as a one-of-a-kind work of art with a statement of your style.
Laser engraving requires artistic talent and expertise while also demanding great attention to detail and focus. When done by a professional with proper equipment, laser engraving also ensures the integrity of your firearm, keeping the frame or stock shape intact and permanently functional.
We treat every firearm we work on as if it is our own.
We provide custom graphic services as well. There are a lot of complexities when it comes to computer graphics that are acceptable for laser engraving. We could write a bunch of computer jargon here that will most likely make no sense to you unless you have a lot of geek in you as we do.
Graphics need to be in vector form to be useable on laser systems. If you don’t know what that means upload what you have and we can edit and convert it for you. Rates vary for graphic services. A simple conversion will be $15 whereas more elaborate work will be billed at the industry standard of $65/hour – prorated.
NOTESÂ
- Laser engraving looks great and will permanently alter the appearance of your handgun. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
- Due to differences in chemical composition, we will ONLY STIPPLE BLACK FRAMES; not FDE, OD, grey, etc.
- We don’t need or want your entire firearm.
- Just ship your lower/frame.
- Review our shipping guidelines HERE.
- Please read our laser stippling service terms & conditions.
- YOU MAY PURCHASE A NEW GRIP MODULE DIRECTLY FROM SIG [or a re-seller such as OpticsPlanet.com, etc.] AT THE FOLLOWING LINK AND SHIP IT TO US (SIG GRIP MODULE LINK.)

Dude, I couldn’t be happier. Well done. Fit and finish is amazing, and being honest, this is the first firearm I’ve ever had etched like this so I was skeptical.
